Irrigation Clock Question

Ok I have a question about clocks I have been in the landscape industry since i was around 15 and have used just about every controller out except for the ones that you only need two wires as opposed to one common and one hot wire for each valve.

Anyone use those and if so what do you think about them.

Re: Irrigation Clock Question

Do a search for tucore irrigation systems...Rainbird and Hunter both have them as well

In my previous life I installed and serviced systems for a large landscape company and towards the end of my time there we started to install these.

For large commercial jobs they were great, easy to troubleshoot, only two wires to sort thru and are easy to make future additions to, you just add decoders. The clocks themselves are a bit odd but to get used to but like anything it just takes time.

At the time the price for the installation of a two wire system did not make them economical for residential work, not sure about now.

One tip if you do install one or are currently maintaining one is to make sure to ground the hell out of them, the decoders at each valve, every 500lf of wire run ( if memory serves) as well as the clock themselves....they are not cheap to replace.

Hope that helps, if you can be more specific with questions you have I will try to help as much as I can
