Strangely, in this "go green" world, the goat seems to actually be an excellent idea. Except not as a serivce, as a homeowner's solution.

Not for the tiny little city lots, but for thos big 1/2 acre suburban lots, imagine a goat:

- no engine, zero carbon fuels consumption, no exhaust
- low maintenance, highly reliable
- silent, mostly
- beyond mulching - automatically composts the grass into fertilizer and spreads it itself
- can provide organic milk
- buy your first nanny goat and but for a small stud fee never have to buy another again
- doubles as children's pet
- in case of natural disaster or war, provides emergency meat source

I like the goat idea I need 10 at the lake house, its very rocky and you cant use a mower we have one of them 2 wheel trimmers......takes 3 days to do 3.5 acres once a year lol

with the goat you get free fertalizer so its win/win

Alternatively, get a sheep. Provides all the advantages of a goat AND can provide a solution to this thread:

Increasing traffic to your new lawn mowing business

Hi from Australia. Get yourself a box trailer , enclose it with a canopy that you can lock up all your gear in. I know lots of contractors who have had their gear and equipment stolen from out of the back of their utes and open trailers. Talk to your local suppler and buy commercial grade equipment. Its made to last. Get yourself a website and start using local search engines to pick up your website address.
