This Falls Under DIY Question..
I've got to tackle a landscaping project tomorrow that doesn't involve a professional. It's my own yard.. lol My goal is to dig out an area of grass and plant shrubbery then surround it with mulch and edging block.
My question- What will keep the grass from taking over the mulched areas? I've tried black plastic, I've tried fabric, I've tried digging every last blade and root of grass out, but even with frequent weeding, it always seems to take over the area eventually. There is something I am not doing right. And my son manages to sling clippings on it when he mows.. could that be my problem? Any suggestions?
