Bridge work

Looking for a little info.
have customer who needs small bridge fixed that goes over a small creek.
small size 8' long by 10' wide .
existing now has 15 8" x 8" - 8' long railroad ties over this span.
are rail road ties oak or some other wood.
I was going to replace with oak not treated 8 x 8 .
treated is yellow pine and i know there not strong enough for that use.
has any one ever come across this in the past.
thank you

does he drive a tractor across the bridge? the weight load traversing the bridge will impact the type of materials (and footing) used. It's easy to cobble something together when your a HO, but when a contractor does it with his(her) name and insurance on the line, you've got to make sure it's right.

you might try rereading your post-the grammer is off and makes it a little difficult to understand.

consider to steel I beams then cover with wood-if 'cheap' is the objective, then railroad ties sound about right.

Yes you are right ,i am not a bridge builder i would take it to an engineer to have it spec before the installation of any work .
I was just to see if any one has ever come across some thing like this .
my answer will come from engineer.

Look at job for second time . I look at it first time about 4 months ago . second look always look worse .
Job has to go to engineer . Needs new foundation for work to be done right . Existing foundation is two rows 8" block and sagging.
