Question

3 Pt. Attachments....where To Find Used Ones

Can anyone tell me of a good place to find some used 3 point equipment? I have been searching everywhere (including Ebay) for a deal to start my new business but not much luck. Needing a primary seeder, pulverizer, broadcaster, core aerator, walk behind trencher and 6' box scraper...just to mention a few. I am in the market for another tractor as well. A JD, Kabota or New Holland. Can anyone offer any advice on where to find any of these items? I sure would appreciate the help. MIKE

Re: 3 Pt. Attachments....where To Find Used Ones

As far as used attachments we have gotton all of our used equipment either at equipment auctions, or rental places. Just go into your rental store tell them what you are looking for and alot of the time they will see you the piece of equipment. We got a pulverizer for $300 and it was a year old unit. Got a few blades this way, and a slit seeder. If they say no, then just move on to the next place it will never hurt to ask alot of times the rental places will have equipment sit that never rents.. and will sell dirt cheap just to get rid of it.

Auctions are awesome if you are a person that can handle an auction. Find a good auction with some items you would like to purchase.. Set your limit for each item before it starts bidding.. Then you bid and DO NOT bid past your limit of what u want to get the unit for. This is where guys get in trouble and its easy to do.

You have to remember that there will be another auction with maybe even a nicer piece of equipment to bid on very soon. Dont get attached. There are alot of county auctions or even state auctions that sell 3 point attachments and other equipment. Just go to the pre-auction, check the equipment out run it, make sure everything is in shape.. then bid away.

We have got several partner saws, 3-points, plows even a straw mulcher and stuff like that at auctions. They are fun if you can control yourself and not spend more then you wanted to on a piece of equipment cause you got caught up with the guy next to you bidding you up. Let him pay more for it, his loss not yours, youll find the same piece of equipment 2 weeks later and he wont be there to bid on it.

^ Agree with everything you said.. Make sure you have a budget when you go because like he said you can get caught up in the hype.. But that is the best way to go unless you can buy new...
