Re: Supervisors Duties

First, develop a JOB DUTIES punch-list of the supervisor's responsibilities. Then develop it into a JOB DESCRIPTION (including compensation). Review it with him and have him sign it to ackowledge that everyone's on the same page.

DAILY REPORTS should give you a snapshot of what happended that day.....what was accomplished, who was on-site, how long, receipts, and maybe an estimate of how long until completion, etc. It's best to create a form that can be filled out every day so you receove information in a consistant manner. They MUST be submitted every day. You can't manage a job after the fact.

WEEKLY REPORTS should be a summary of those Daily Reports including everything completed that week, money spent, hours or commissions, and you should be comparing the summary of each job to your original estimate. If costs go over what you priced the job for - WHY?

Lastly, if you're going to give a supervisor the responsibility, you have to give him the authority to control the job.
