Free employee handbook generator
http://www.na.fs.fed.us/wihispanic/e...ok/default.htm
I have no idea why this is free, or why it is part of the national forestry website, but it is one kick ass nice and free utility.
You tell it your basic info and click on topics that relate to your business and it generates a pretty decent employee handbook to get you started. And it's free!

Mike I could hug you! (I'm a woman so no worries) We just hired our first employee and I was searching the forums to find that link I think ProWall posted for the one he purchased and used. I usually create all the files and programs we use for our business, but just don't have much time these days and was gonna suck it up and buy a manual. Just downloaded mine from the link you posted and it's a great start! Much appreciated!

Mike ~
I've been in Human Resources for more years than I care to tell. This handbook is, without a doubt, the BEST customizable employee manual I've ever seen. And the fact that it's 100% free is totally amazing.
I posted it at my small business forum after I customized my own handbook and reviewed the results.
Thanks very much for the link. I appreciate it and so will my members.
Linda

Oh, let her. Its just a hug and its just Finley. Sheesh.
How dangerous can a man that let's his wife vacuum the dog be after all?

My wife does want to hug you!
She has been looking for a good employee handbook and this is better then the lame software-based ones she's already bought! She took over the city golf course restaurant and bar and they have never had any type of employee manual before. (And they wonder why the inmates have been running the prison...)
Good Find!

Does anyone have a copy they can re-post? The link in the first thread seems to be broken.
Thanks!

It looks really great, it would be of some help. The Handbook is a statement of business policies and how the business is to be conducted. The company employee handbook is one of the most important communication tools between the employer and the employee.

Manual problems
What a great link. Has anyone tried this link recently and had success? Every time I get towards the end and click create, it comes up with an error page? Any tips to avoid this??

First off welcome to CT - mind posting an intro & put your location in your profile?
Next, that question is almost as bad as asking what the going rate is. No error message, no OS, browser, etc... I would suggest contacting there Tech Support if you are having problems & can't find something by googleing the error code
I had no problems when I ran through it about a week or so ago
