What Do I Need To Be 'legit'?
Hi,
First post here so please be nice! I am a carpenter or handyperson who specializes more or less in finish work to improve a homes ability to sale (newer business, but growing fast). Some of what I do would be decorating, finish carpentry (trim, shelving, repairs), painting, tiling, etc. If you have seen some of the shows on television such as Designed To Sell I basically function in the roles of designer and carpenter. Since I'm not doing major remodels I assumed I did not need a contractors license, etc for my business, however I did have a homeowner recently ask me if I had or needed a license of any type and the truth is I'm not sure of the answer. Would any one know what is required of me to be completely legal and upstanding when growing my business? I live in Texas in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Thanks. |
