In A Tizzy

The only house I have shoveled out is my own,, until,, a real estate agent asked a friend of mine if he knew someone to clean a 'move out' rental that she owns. Since he knew I had been thinking, and done extensive research about starting a cleaning business, he nominated me.

When I arrived with mop in hand, he neglected to tell me that Rambo couldn't get through it, and apparently, he neglected to tell her that I don't have the legal matters in hand along with my mop.

She was so impressed with my cleaning skills, she wants me to give her a price on a house that's under construction, and will be completed after landscaping. (very soon)

Now what? I live in a small resort town that is exploding with high rise condo's and homes under construction, so I don't want to miss out on this golden opportunity. I have owned business's, but this is un-treaded territory for me (I am a female).

Question: What kind of licence is required in FL. for Construction clean-up, and, do I need to be bonded and have workman's comp. If there are other tips or requirements, please share.
I don't want to myself

Re: In A Tizzy

If you are going to work for most contractors in FL you will need WC and GL. If its just you and/or a partner you can get $50 WC waivers but you still need the GL. The area you work in will want a occupation licence too but that should be around $200-300. Where are you in FL? Get your stuff and I give you a chance to bid one of mine if you're near Tampa
