Re: Qualifier For Your Company
It only can fly in certain states. In my state FL as a licensed contractor you can qualify more than one company. I posted on another thread about it. I personally wouldn't do it. Besides holding a license in my state I hold one in Miss. I helped a dear friend out and qualified his company for a % of the job. Even then I was worried sick and it was only for 3 homes til he could get his paper work processed. I am glad it's over and I will never do it again. In this case it went smooth and I made some extra cash.
A license is worth millions in profit over a lifetime. It is of equal value in liability when so much can go wrong so quickly in construction or the trades. Not worth it to me.

Re: Qualifier For Your Company
Yes, a friend asked to use my license to build a house, I said no, I'm glad I did, although I wanted to help him out, the liability was all mine. I wish he had not asked, because I would never ask that of someone.
As for certification, in Minnesota that is not done, although I am a NARI certified contractor for what thats worth. Licensing is a big mess from state to state.

Agree.... I think as more and more builders fall apart and qualifiers stand there to hold the bag the laws will crack down harder. In my experience FL was a tough state to get a license. A ton of P.work and test prep. Yet they leave a couple of little loop holes that make no sense.

Re: Qualifier For Your Company
Are you all nuts? You have no idea who is on the other end of this computer and you are willing to give someone access to your license...Here is what one guy did...got a signed agreement...then setup a company with a similiar name...put the guy as an officer...used his own phone numbers and address, used this guys name, license to purchase materials, even forged this guys signature on jobs...gee guess what this guys company is now being sued for breach of contract, on materials....and he most likely does not even know it...as all the legal paperwork is going to the con.....STOP AND USE YOUR HEADS!!!!!!
