Out Of State Working In NC?

I lived in Wilmington NC for 6 years prior to my wife & I moving to Indiana 6 years ago. I still love the area, have a ton of friends there & vacation there frequently. I was tihnking of trying to drum up some business there so I could justify spending some more time there "on vacation".

I am not a licensed GC, in Indiana you do not have to be to build decks. I know about the $30,000 project limit for not being a licensed GC in NC, but was wondering about being an out of state Sole Proprietor & doing work in NC. Does anyone have any insite into this or know who I should cantact to get the story?

Thanks,
Dan
