Re: New Jersey License ???
Max,sounds like you need to register as home improvement contractor. www.njconsumeraffairs.com/contractor.htm. It also sounds as if the non-labor portion of your sales will subject to the 7% state sales tax, contact the nj division of taxation to request a new business reg.kit. Btw the contractor licensing law only applys to existing single and multi family residencial buildings,commercial/new contruction res. are exempt.

Re: New Jersey License ???
The fee for the registration is $90. Also, you will NOT
be able to obtain a residential building permit without the registration certificate.Lance |

Re: New Jersey License ???
don't expect it to get back to you anytime soon. we had to register by 2005, and I did mine in the fall of 2004, and never got the licence or number or anything until the spring of 2005. they cashed my check right away for 90 bucks. i just kept working without it. they check it when you apply for a permit at the townships. depending on the township, not sure they really even care.
mine runs out this dec, with the new governor, i'm sure the fee will go up now. anyway he can make extra money from us. |
