Hello all!

Well, let me first start off to say hello to everyone!
I was just browsing the good ol internet and I was like "I wonder if theres some kind of construction forum?" 2 seconds later. I found you guys.
My name is Gilbert and my parents have been in the flooring industry for about 20 years now selling flooring at several of their stores. I've been learning the ropes since, I was about 5 years now since, I'm about the turn 20 next month.
I guess I came here to ask you guys a question. I've been interested in actually interested in installing Flooring and Granite,Slate, etc. for counter tops for a while now. Since, it will not only get us a lot more clients and some extra cash, instead of someone just hiring a flooring or countertop installer.
I'll shut up now and ask my question. I was wondering what are the requirements that I need in order to get my license in California? Also, is there some kind of construction school in Southern California that would teach me on how to do the installation of Flooring and countertops. I'm already familiar on knowing how to install flooring since, i've done it a number of times. But, every installer has some kind of method to install the flooring and i've seen many nightmare installation jobs out there. So, I want to make sure that I know how do it right!

Thanks,
Gilbert

The Internet at your fingertips and you ask how to get your contractors license in California. What Google doesn't work in California?

Did you ask your parents (in the flooring industry for 20 years)?
What sector of the flooring industry, Sales, Installation, or Cleaning?
20 years in the industry and they cant steer you in the right direction?

Cabinet and counter top companies I have heard of before.
I have never noticed (they may be out there so I'm playing it safe) a Flooring and Counter top company.

Your best bet is to stay in the flooring sector, instead of finding a school for that, go labor somewhere and do it off of the other guys dime.

May want to reformat your question and ask again, rather than bumping it.
