General Contractor

Im looking for a general contractor to sign off on my experience for my florida license application. The general contractor that i work for 5 years moved out of the state and can't get a hold of him. I have experience in Project Management and field experince on jobs up to 7 stories involving sitework, excavation, footing, pile & caps, concrete, decks, masonry walls, trusses, wood framing, reinforing bars, steel erection, column erection, and formwork. I don't have anymore options on a gc to sign for me. Just wanted to know if anybody could help out.

Re: General Contractor

So how much are you willing to pay for someone to take a chance at losing their own license just to help you out???? I'm thinking tracking down your old boss is your best bet.

Ya got paystubs and a good paper trail?? I just went through something similar. I didn't get any arguments with paper.

Re: General Contractor

Well here's just a few hurdles for you. Ohh and don't forget the felony part either. Well in California anyway.

The Certification Statement at the bottom of the form must be completed by a qualified, responsible person who is able to
certify the work experience of the qualifier. The certifier can be an employer, fellow employee, journeyman, union
representative, contractor, business associate, or a client if the applicant is/was self-employed. This form will help CSLB determine
whether the qualifier has the experience necessary to become a capable, qualified contractor.

The certifier must have direct knowledge of the qualifier’s experience during the time period listed. “Direct knowledge”
means personal knowledge of the experience that does not depend on outside information or hearsay. The certifier must be able to
certify that the qualifier demonstrated a level of knowledge and skills expected of a journeyman or higher in the classification for
which he or she is applying.

Any licensee whose signature appears on a falsified Certification of Work Experience form, or who otherwise certifies false or misleading experience claims submitted by an applicant to obtain a contractor’s license, will be subject to disciplinary action.
(B&P Code Section 7114.1)
