Florida Licenses Application?
I was just wondering how long it took you florida guys to get approved for your application. Its been well over 30 days from the date of receipt.
I have no deficiency so far my credit/Financial is great and no criminal background. I also had a company take care of my application so it would speed up the process. (i guess that didn't work) States website says 3-4 weeks. I dunno hopefully i'll get it soon. thanks |

Since it has been 30 days, you will be getting your deficiency letter soon if they found something to ask for more information, which they will. You can also go here https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp?mode=0&SID= and type your name into the required field and see if your license number has been issued, once the license number is issued you are considered licensed and it will take about 21 days to get your license. I just checked your company name, it shows application in progress, we are practically neighbors, I live in Plant City. |

It took me about 7 or 8 months to get my A/C Licenes and I already had my Certified Building Contractors License, I take the test next month for plumbing, hopefully it won't take as long. You can call and check on it as well, the number should be on the website, if you need it I can track it down. |

Re: Florida Licenses Application?
That is still very fast, uasually it sits on someones desk that long and they find something to complain about, ask for more information and then make you resubmit.
did your brother use a company to help him with the application? what type of work are you going to be doing? |

Re: Florida Licenses Application?
Well i got the results of my application and it said application incomplete. So i called the board and they told me that there were two mistakes on my application. The company that i paid a 1,000 to complete my application without any deficiencys, misspelled the name of the person verifying my experience. Also they forgot to check the box to see if i was applying as a business or individual. I pretty much wasted 1,000 on this sh*t company and could have done this myself. So i was wondering after i fix these problem do you think its going to take another 30 days for the state to approve it if everything is right?

Yes the clock starts over, another 30 days, then they will find something else wrong. edit: For Construction Contractor and business application issues such as responses to deficiency letters or submission of additional information in order to complete an initial application, the fax number is 850.488.8748. Re: Florida Licenses Application?
Sorry about your deficiencies. Yours should have been completely avoidable. Now that it's done, though, here is what you can expect. Your expediting service should be taking care of this for you -- in fact should have been checking for you and finding this out before you did. So talk to them first and see what they will do for you. Fax the corrected pages to 850-488-5748. Include a cover letter with your application # and your SSN and an explanation of what's included. If you already have the deficiency letter, include that, too.
Unfortunately, when you are given a deficiency, DBPR technically has 45 days to acknowledge receipt of it and make the fixes in your application. They are running quite slow right now. The holidays contributed, but the main reasons are that they are making changes in how they review certain parts of the application (primarily experience and verification) and they switched over to a new computer system as of 1/1. Normally I would say they shouldn't take the 45 days, but they just might right now. However, I'd suggest that after 30 days from when you send your fax, you start calling DBPR and requesting what is called a "Tier-N." This is an escalation because your application has not received the attention it needs in a timely manner. Marc Whitten is terrific! However, he won't do anything that circumvents the normal process. You have to allow for the normal process to take its course. Only when it goes off course will you get the help you need. Again, I'm sorry your service did not take care of you appropriately. I hope you will not spread the word that ALL expediters are worthless. ![]() Best wishes!! Kristie Cook |

Re: Florida Licenses Application?
They reviewed my application again after i sent over there information and came back deficient again!! The fees weren't paid yet! The company working on my application check bounced. So i took care fees today and just hope it doesn't take another 30 days to approve my application because of fees. Man this company gave it to me good.
