Contractors Exam For Florida?

Has anyone taken the Residential construction exam in Florida recently?
Studying on my own and was wondering if anyone can give me some insight into the exam? Which of the 20 booksI should study more than the others? Or trade knowledge that will be tested? Is there any practice tests I can download? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Re: Contractors Exam For Florida?

I just took the Builder's exam in Feb. If you are not doing so, I highly suggest taking some kind of class for the exam. The classes (either online, or whatever) will give you tabs to put in your books - these tabs are your reference points for the answers to the exam q's

do not try to just study on your own and go in and take the test -

I went to CamTech - its the best Contractor exam school in Florida, but the most expensive too. Like $1700, not including books. There are online classes that start at like $300, i think.

good luck

Re: Contractors Exam For Florida?

Day 1: Accounting book & AIA Docs & Contractor Manual
Day 2: AIA Docs & Contractor Manual, some Code, some OSHA, some concrete, some Walkers.

To sum up, they like to ask crazy stuff (what additive makes concrete pink? was on my exam). Also do not forget little charts in the back of the books.

Don't worry too much about the math questions on day 2 (you can still pass!)
