Arizona GC Moving To California

I have reviewed the CSLB site and know there is reciprosity although the law exam is required. Does anyone here have recent experience or knowledge of time frames on the process?

Also, I see on the CSLB site that it is not required to be a resident of CA to get a license, but they ask for a current address. I am making the assumption they want a local CA address, but I am not clear on that. I'd appreciate any help.

My goal is to be ready for business when I complete the move.

This is a nice site and I hope to learn more from the members.

Thanks in advance.

Since several months have passed since this post was made, you may already have your answers. But I'll post an answer just in case and for the benefit of others.

Reciprocity...

CA has reciprocity with AZ, NV, and UT. You must be able to show a current and active license in one of those states for 5 out of the last 7 years. You will need to take the CA Law exam, but you are not required to show a CA address. You will need to submit a completed license verification form (can be found on the CSLB site) from your current state. The current processing time (as of this date) is only about 2 weeks before a test date is issued. Side note... all out of state applicants are given a test location in Norwalk, Ca as the default location. But you can request a change in location by faxing the CSLB testing center in Sacramento.

Hope this helps.
