I thought it was very cool but if you look when he gets to the top under the tracks are some kind of anchors so when he gets his tracks on the tower they lock in and then he releases the boom and only when the boom is locked, there where pins that slid out the side of that also. So the machine was always locked to the tower it was nothing to do with balance.

Crazy stuff!! Could you imagine getting to the top being all stretched out like that and having the feul gel, and the filter wax over!!!! Boy that would suck!!!
