What's It Like Where You Dig?
Within a 20 mile radius we can work in areas of soil that run from sand, bank-run gravel with alot of stone in it, Hardpan, clay, grey in color that when dry is like talcum powder and when wet is like the slime of the earth even hard to walk across, some clay sub soil and not much topsoil. For rock we have surface rock left by glaciers from basketball to pickup truck size over alot of the hills, a white soft limestone to a harder grey limestone, a gray granite very tight and hard, a slate like shale and quartz like cobbles from grapefruit to television set size. All this happens in good size deposits that can change very quickly, Not much flat land a lot of hills, swamps.
Reading the posts here I wonder what people are dealing with everyday that they base their experiences on. Nick |

Re: What's It Like Where You Dig?
Joe,
I was a Stamford boy for 32 years. The family business worked all over Fairfield County and Westchester County since the 1920's. I'll be in Brookfield tonight. Nick |

But I know Lee Baldwin, he went to school with my daughter. Do you know Bob Murphy? Not sure if Lee covers your area or not.
