What Size Machine Would You Use

He guys,

This is a pic I took from 2003. The street was excavated (how I don't know) to make reapiers due to the World Trade Center Attacks. This street is 2 blocks away. If you ever wondered why it took so long to make repairs under those streets. Now keep in mind that under this mess is a Subway tunnel!

A 1000 laborers, 500 hammers and chisels, 200 shovels, 100 wheel borrows, 100 shop vacs.

What would you put back in the hole? If it was me I'd try to make it accessable. Is all of NY like that?

I would have used a fire hose w/ a good nozzle and a few good pumps.

But in reality they probably did use vac trucks and an air spade.

I would not say all of NYC. But this is down in the Financial DIstrict and just outside the oldest part of the city. When the WTC came down it affected underground utilities for many blocks. Remember that the hole for those buildings are deeper than the Hudson River just a couple of blocks away. But if you ever wonder why it takes so long to repair something down there or why the streets don't seem to hold up too well to traffic, remember whats underneith.
