Weather!!!

A lot of rain in short periods of time today. We just sat through a tornado warning and severe thunderstorms. The Tornado if it was one, may have passed just north of us. Luckily we still have power.

Joasis, is snowed in, in Oklahoma. My daughter not to far from him has had two days off from colege with 10" - 12" of snow and ice.

Re: Weather!!!

I was on an extension ladder at about 3:00 today. Windy as all get out. Fun, fun. A couple of times I braced myself against the building, as I thought the ladder might blow down. Try driving a step van in wind like that. It's like piloting a sail boat, almost. The wind really catches you.

Re: Weather!!!

Now Nick, we get snow like this every 10 or 15 years....snowed in in Oklahoma is due to the novelty! Actually, we need the moisture something awful, but the cold I can live without.

Re: Weather!!!

Major major damage in my area. There are people coming in today to check to see if a tornado touched down.

Re: Weather!!!

Well, it was confirmed by the NWS, a tornado did come through my area. I have never seen so much damage in my life. There are tree trimming companies coming from out of state to assist. I told my dad that we should hop the excavator on the trailer and go around and make some money today, lol.

Re: Weather!!!

Makes me sick to hear that trees are down from any storm, and here come the bozos with chainsaws to take them to a landfill....that is fine for elms, etc...but what about those fine old cherry trees, black walnuts, maples.......we have a saw and timber forum now guys so you can learn about bandmills and what you can do with these downed trees.....

Re: Weather!!!

First snow this morning. 1" at 6 am, very slippery people all over the place. No one slows down. Very scary to see Mom and the kids doing 45 down the road in the Lincoln Navigator thinking that four wheel drive will stop her at the stop sign on that glazed over road.
