Trucking

In CT right now trucks are coming under alot of scrutiny. State roadside inspections are increasing, there are a number of pieces of legislation about to be introduced for emissions for trucks, stricter enforcement, larger fines.

How are things where you are?

What do you use to move equipment?

Are you up on the new cargo securement regulations?

How do you move dirt over the road?

What do you think of trucks?

-- On the interstates, the state police and DOT sit in the rest areas. When the lights are on for the scales, they pick and choose what trucks they wanna inspect. The one township where we do alot of work in sent one of their cops to inspection school and he pulls trucks over at random to check thier logs, tires, lights, brakes, etc... He doesn't pull us over though cuz we did work at his house for nothing....lol

What do you use to move equipment?
--Tandem tractor with a 40 ton detach gooseneck trailer

Are you up on the new cargo securement regulations?
-- ehhh.........so so

How do you move dirt over the road?
-- Tri-axles

What do you think of trucks?
-- Love them.......need more of them and less retards trying to race around them and cut through parking lots to beat them b/c they are in a big hurry to go nowhere.

I hate the guy from Tennessee (blue White) that thinks that he owns a sportscar. #1Ahole. On the upside, one day he will kill someone and lose it all.

Daily inspections at weight station by exit 2 I-95, makes me glad we hire trucks.
What do you use to move equipment?
Hire all our moves ( no headaches )
Are you up on the new cargo securement regulations?
Brief us in on it!

With a stiff broom Seriously Hired trucks.

What do you think of trucks?

Re: Trucking

Random roadside set up. Multiple times in a month. Sometimes multiple towns in same day. Can get a clean bill of health in morning. Have violations in afternoon.

What do you use to move equipment?
Use a very dependable owner operator lowbed service. We own a tractor and lowbed but the insurance, tax and registration are
almost as much as our total yearly bill with him.

Are you up on the new cargo securement regulations?
Go to http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regul...vehicle/cs.htm
every type of load has a specific required type of securement.

How do you move dirt over the road?
Own a heavy tandem that we haul rock with. Hire out almost all other hauling

What do you think of trucks?
A necessary evil. Cannot charge anywhere near enough to make
money. I love 60's and early 70's Macks and Brockways
