Temporary Help

at what point in your bussiness did you guys decide to use more temporary labor? i ask because i am at a point where i can do the work by myself, but with some help it would go quicker and easier. can't afford full time help yet. also do most go through manpower or agencies like that for bookeeping ease and liability issues or other means of finding help?
thanks,
metin
