So What Will You Do

Costs of everything are up. Work is slowing down. What are you going to do this year?

Buy more efficient truck or machine?

Idle diesels less?

Do better maintenance?

Plan how equipment is used better?

Anything?

Spend less money. Last year we spent around $100,000 on new equipment alone. This year that # will be alot smaller.

No changes here. Hope not to buy as much stuff this year but who knows what will happen.Still need a dozer, wheel loader and maybe a tractor and end dump trailer. Did bump the hourly rates up to cover rising fuel cost.

P.S. Hoping Brett Favre changes his mind

Re: So What Will You Do

Like many of our suppliers, we have found the rising fuel cost as an avenue to raise our prices substantially and blame it on the price of fuel. We may loose a few customers but if all their looking for is low cost and not the quality and production/performance of a reputable contractor then we really are not interested in them as a customer. I know this is a totally different philosphy many in our business have but we drew a line in the sand a couple of years back and decided we may loose a few but were willing to take the risk.

Vinny: That's me getting ready to dive a shipwreck called the Andrea Doria with a whole lot of tanks on my back. I need to find a better avatar that relates to this site but that's the only one I had at the time. Thanks for the welcome, I really like this site and find it very informative.

Re: So What Will You Do

I have dove the Doria 14 times and the Empress of Ireland 12 times along with many other notable wrecks. It's a nice hobby at this late stage in life and one I would recommend to anyone.
