Selling Equipment
Has any body sold equipment by auction? I would like to know the good as well as the bad. Should I use a smaller company or a nation wide company. Again, good verses bad, I am not sure which way is best. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

Re: Selling Equipment
Never have sold stuff, but have purchased stuff. One thing I would avoid would be a absolute auction. That means the equipment goes for whatever the highest bid is, no reserve. There are some auctions that allow you to buy stuff back, but is looked down upon. This does happen at every auction though. I would go with a nationally know auction company. They send out flyers all over the world and they tend to get the people there. Hunyady seems to bring the most people and money.
What you selling, we are always looking to buy stuff.

Re: Selling Equipment
It all depends on what type of equipment you are trying to sell, what season it is, and what auction company is selling it. I need the details on what type of equipment you are trying to sell, and ill let u know wether or not its worth putting it in a auction yet

Re: Selling Equipment
You auction it do it in the spring. Paint it up with rustoleum, works great! Problem with an auction is you may have to pay a fee if no one buys it, but cover your ass it put a min. bid to sell at when it goes up, or you might take a hit on the $$$$$$$$

Re: Selling Equipment
My reason for trying an auction is that I am tired of people saying that they will come to look at a piece of equipment and never show up or they may show up do not have the money needed. I have 2 screen plants an excavator and a wheel loader that are not in use.
