Rubber Tired Excavators

Does anyone have experience with rubber tired excavators in the 15,000 LB to 20,000 LB range we were wondering about stability and agility.

Re: Rubber Tired Excavators

i have no personal exp. running them but my local township has a couple so when they repaired some sewer mains i went and checked it out. it seemed pretty stable it had 4 stabilizers/outriggers and not a tire on the ground when digging, granted it was setup in the street.

Nick,
Yes they are very stabil and agile as long as you don't take them on a slope that would cause them to tip over. On a serious note I've seen plenty of them in action on road jobs but have have never had the opportunity to jump in one, or out of one for that matter,

No experience on one either, although I imagine that they would come in handy for repairs in streets. Although it is bigger than what you want, your best bet is prolly a 318M.
