Rocks 1, John Deere 0

Used the 200 john deere for 2 hours today for the first time. Moved some very large rocks that we had loaded with our Akerman.

Pop! swing latch bolt $150.00 on the quick fit breaks. Didn't find the nut $98.00
shipping $28.00. -$276.00

2 hours work $300.00 income.

$24.00 to pay for 2 hours fuel, expenses, operator and overhead.

I hope this yellow thing starts carrying it's weight???

I just bought a tractor/mower from Deere ,it has about 5 hrs. on it.I paid more for a deere ,so I won't be a happy camper if something breaks any-time soon. Freight prices are outrageous anymore.

I hope the new parts hold up longer than the old ones just did.

Re: Rocks 1, John Deere 0

Don't feel bad Nick. We just had our 315 in the shop going over it. Installed a new hydraulic pump seal, muffler and pins/bushings in the bucket. Had her all steamed down and wiped down with mineral spirits. Clean as a whistle. Take it on the job yesterday and use it for 2 hrs and notice oil on the tracks. Our oil filters are in the side compartment near the hydraulic pump. They are mounted on a plate for easy changing instead of on the motor. Well, one of the hoses developed a pin hole and was spraying motor oil all over the inside of the compartment. So, we had to quit early and then this morning spent 1 hr changing the hose and wiping everything back down with ether and a rag.

That's a bummer Nick.

We just put a hole in the lower windshield of the Volvo. Operator backing up as he was grubbing a pool site with a lot of laurels and one with a fat stem gets caught in the tracks -- rotates up over the idler ripping the roots out of the ground and sling-shotting it through the window.

$140 and two hours drive round trip later--I feel your pain.

That !! Last fall I was hauling a tractor back home after getting a oil leak fixed and the truck kicked up a rock and put it through the cab windshield. Had to order a new one and take the door off and take it to a auto body shop the get it installed since the glass was glued in.
