Re: Recent Purchase

You could loan it to me Nick, if you would install a Drott bucket on it, and delevery and a fuel supply were included! Would be pretty handy for clearing trees I am going to use the excavator for.

Re: Recent Purchase

That looks like a good machine Nick. I am assuming that it was steamed down, but it looks like there are no leaks and the undercarriage looks to be good.

How much did you pick her up for ?

Gotta' love the ol' "55 L's". For a machine that's pushin' 30 years old, it sure looks great. And it'll still be useful 20 years from now with some good care.

Re: Recent Purchase

The machine is a 72'. It came just as it is in the picture. The undercarriage is 80%+.
The lift cylinders both leak a little and the fuel strainer gasket has a leak. The only leaks on the whole machine. We dropped all the pans and removed all the covers and body panels only one bolt on the whole machine stuck. It broke of course. I had the machine steamed. One of the guys has gone over the machine and ground all the rust spots and has painted most of those areas. We are going to drop all the fluids in the machine tomorrow and change all the filters. Even the seat and arm rests are in very good shape.

rino, do you want a 68' 955K with and engine problem. The undercarriage is way gone. But its cheap!

Re: Recent Purchase

I'm of an inclination to want it to go to some one who might do something with it instead of scraping it.

Real Cheap!!!!!!!!

Re: Recent Purchase

rino,

I can only guess as to a bearing on the engine. The torque converter and transmission never gave us any trouble. She dug into a bank real well with no slip. It steered okay. It has the soft cab. The bucket isn't broken. If you want I'll see about a picture.

$ 1,200.00

I was amazed today what a guy with pride in what he does and a bunch of spray cans of paint can do, the new machine looks great.

Re: Recent Purchase

She went on the trailer and off to work Saturday. Steamed, cleaned, touched up paint, completley new fluids and filters, a few new parts. I have my fingers crossed!

My dad said that he would buy your 955K, but it is too far away.
