Rain Gardens/Infiltration Trenches.....
Hey guys....Last Tuesday I had the pipe crew in on my job to get all the storm sewer work in. We installed what is called an infiltration storm sewer. Basically, the storm water is routed to a MH, which then runs through a 36" HDPE perforated pipe that is plugged at the end. The pipe is backfilled with 3/4" clean and wrapped in filter cloth. The water is suppose to bleed into the ground basically. They are becoming more and more common up here and we are suppose to install them even in impervious soils. Is is getting like that where you guys are or is it just the granola lovin, tree huggin libs up here in MN?

Re: Rain Gardens/Infiltration Trenches.....
We did a on site infiltration system like that for a daycare we built. They are used on sites that do not have the room for a detention basin. The only thing I don't like about them is that eventually they will get built up with debris and the system won't be able to absorb these heavy rain storms that mother nature has been throwing at us in the past few years.
