Re: Pushing Sand.... Kinda Boring
Nick, this field flooded last year from this little area. We pushed the sand / silt off and built a little berm to get through the summer. Ive been hauling concrete in for the last week or so when the ground has been well frozen..... It aint froze no more! All I could do to make it to the road tonight so I could come home. If all goes well tomorrow we will get the last of the sand where it belongs and lay the fabric down and start placing the rip/rap down.... Rain predicted tonight so who knows what will happen? Paul

Nick, you could probably get here by the time the creek goes down.... We've had about 1.5'' of rain since about 2 AM, still raining....

Re: Pushing Sand.... Kinda Boring
I wonder what the water looks like downstream? Run machinery in a stream around here and you'll have a swat team of state agencies on your jobsite in no time flat.

Re: Pushing Sand.... Kinda Boring
There's still a lot of common sense practices that go on here.... The water has been over the road twice just in the past year just a bit upstream from this job. It would be over again right now with all the rain we've had in the last couple days.... The road crews, swat teams, etc drive by and say thanks, they know I am taking care of a problem rather than causing one. Yep... The water downstream is muddied but its a give and take situation. This stream is not known for its fishing, might have a few carp in it but not much more. Downstream a couple miles where it dumps into a bigger river this would probably be a no-no and if it had to be done those swat teams would probably show up and be sampling turbidity/opacity.....
