Well Nac ol' boy where the heck have you been? Long time no see!

When you were younger were you ever in prison and put on the rock pile for ninety days?

Good to see your going along. How's your year shaping up?

PM all of us and let us know if rusknet is a real person or not?

Day,

Why don't you take your camera and jump in the car and go to Mount Rushmore and take a picture. Then keep it in your pocket so you have something to refresh your memory when when the subject of rock comes up!

Re: One More Rock Job

nick,
we have "rock" here....some get the size of like 3 basketballs...but it's not ledge rock that are bound together and have to be drilled/blasted. and they're few and far between. they've been pushed up here by glaciers and is in the glacial till. if you look at a map of so dak, you'll see that the missouri river bisects the state. i live about 25 miles from the minnesota border. everything "east river south dakota" is predominantly a clay soil. in my area there are some pockets of gravel. you get west river where mount rushmore is "375 miles west of me"..........and you see the rock similar to that Nac is fighting. most domestic wells there are drilled through many feet of granite. i have a good friend who is building a new home on an acerage near sturgis, south dakota "home of the motorcycle rally"........and it cost him a small fortune to get his well drilled.
