Older Trucks

Does anyone belong to one of the antique truck or equioment organizations?

If you do what truck / equipment do you have?

Do you go to antique truck / equipment shows?

Re: Older Trucks

I love the old equipment/truck shows, don't belong to any orginizations yet. I may bring my 1956 Ferguson F40 to the Kent, CT or Shelton, CT fall shows this year.

Hollandia Nursery's has a real nice show in Bethel every year around end of Oct. Some old trucks, lots of antique tractors and steam engines. I'll let ya'll no about it when it comes back up.

Love them! Just passed on a '64 Ford Econoline, I had one in a former life. At least, I know how to work on them.

Re: Older Trucks

I had 63 Econoline. Gold with brown shag carpet. We put peace signs and pot leaves bumper to bumper.....it was the LoveTruck.

Great for drive-ins.

Re: Older Trucks

OTC Equipment in Oklahoma City has the first Case 530 CK series backhoe, sitting on display at their gate......my 530 Case was a "C" model, before they even painted them all yellow and called them Construction Kings. I offered to trade since mine is 4 years older then theirs, and no dice.

Unless my accountant tells me different, I will keep my old stuff..the only exception is our Bobcat, which we use nearly every job site.

My first vehicle I ever owned was a 62 Ford Econoline truck. I bought it off of my dad for $500 when I was 17. Im 28 now, so that was in 1996. My friends called it the milk truck. It was white with a black stripe through the middle of the cab. Three on the tree! Good Times!

Re: Older Trucks

I don't belong to any organizations, but I do have an older truck that is driven quite often. It's mostly just used around the homestead, as it's a bit slow for the blacktop. The truck is a 3/4 ton 1952 Dodge M37, which is basically the military version of the Powerwagon. Some of the specs on the truck are a 230 ci straight 6 cylinder engine, 4 speed transmission, transfer case is twin level operated (1 for 4x4 and 1 for 4x2 selection), axles are 5.83:1 (told ya real slow), and a front mounted PTO driven 7500 lb capacity Braden winch. It also has the 24V electrical system. It's a blast to drive and will go anywhere (at a slow speed). It's noisy and has no AC, heater, nor radio ... but it's a workhorse and very easy to work on.
