No, he's not at all...

Here's what's going to happen around 5 o'clock or so today with this thread you started Sitegirl..

Your gonna get some more of the same replies as this funny guy, then you are going to get some guys who are going to ask you a bunch of questions about your questions and out of those guys asking questions, some of them are actually going to try and help answer you. Then you're gonna have some guys that don't like it when people join and right away, start asking how to bid on stuff, who knows what they'll say...
I could be wrong though..

I wish I could be of some jelp, but I do not touch commercial, nor demo work on that large scale..
Good luck with this demo take-off..

Re: Need Help Estimating A Demo Job

Site girl we had this problem over the winter since we are site contractors and were doing our first demo job. one thing we did was try to cut down on the big costs. we bought our own roll off and dumpsters which allowed us to recycle most of the material that came out of the building. in a 4 story high school we had 2 loads of trash the rest was copper scrap steel and plaster.
before you go into pricing find out what the walls are made of and see how you are going to do the job. we found 1 small bobcat and 3 laborers could do a floor in a week. and it worked out to about a 300,000 dollar job. is there asbestos or anything like that too that drives the cost way up.

Just add water and gravel then pave your driveway.

Re: Need Help Estimating A Demo Job

Plaster is just like cement you can crush it and add it to reclaimed asphalt and concrete recycle it that way. with alot of green projects around you have to think of this stuff.

If it is a commercial building, you need to notify DEP and file a application and you need to do inspections for asbestos. If there is asbestos, you need to hire a crew to remove it.

yea that job was really well we are actually looking at bidding phase two and general contracting the building of the new school which will be new for us but not bad at all since we have done smaller projects.
