I never heard of a "1200", that looks like a M600 or 610, and they bring a few thousand on eBay. Most older skid steers that will run will bring that, and sometimes more, especially since they don't have hydrostat drive motors and diesel engines.....the older VH4D Wisconsins are good motors that a shade tree mechanic can work on.

I wouldn't buy that unless I were an antique collector.

Nor would I set my butt in the seat of a machine without a ROPS.

You can find a much more useful loader for $3K or just a little more.

I really missed the point earlier. But as stated above, without a ROP's it would be a no go...they tip easily, forward and back, and it ain't fun.

Re: Model 1200 Bobcat Skid Steer

I had a chance to buy a Case 1430 this fall, machine was in nice condition, new engine and trans. Smaller than what i wanted but it would have worked. The owner turned me off when he told me he put a new tranny in it when he bought it, then a new engine. Worked it for about 50 hours and blew the tranny and had to replace it a second time. I said no thanks and walked away. He was asking $4500 or B/O. Sounded like a money pit to me, to many parts in too little time.

ROPS

Roll
Over
Protection
Structure

Usually referred to as "open cab".

You can still get killed on a machine that has one, but at least with one you have a chance of survival.
