Landscape Paper
Hi, I'm new here. I have worked for an electrician for 61/2 years now. We are having some landscape work done at his office/home and the guy is putting down that black weed protector stuff. before gravel and such.He keeps saying that he needs to know where we are going to put plants at a later date, so he doesn't put that black stuff over those areas. The problem is that we dont know where we will put plants, if we ever do.So m question is- is it impossible to plant plants after that stuff is put down? It looks to me like you can can through it with a razor blade or something, but this guy acts like it is the end of the world if he doesn't know NOW.Is this true? Or can we just cut the weed stopper plastic later and then plant plants?I like my boss and job and don't want to make a mistake. I also don't want to look like a fool by having to ask him a question like this. Please help. I have to answer him tomorrow/Monday.Thank You,Leslie

Re: Landscape Paper
The landscape experts should be along to offer their advice but I see no reason why you can't cut the landscape cloth out later and then plant your gardens, etc.
I would just tell him you don't plan on putting anything where he's putting his stuff and leave it at that. What does he care what you do a year or more later? Last edited by DecksEtc; 09-10-2006 at 10:33 PM. |

Re: Landscape Paper
Put it down over the entire area..
![]() You are correct it can be cut in an X at a later date to install plantings. If you need to plant a large area with small plants, close together, you can always pull that stuff up. It is easier to pull it up later than put it down later. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. |
