Hello

Just wanted to introduce myself before I started posting work related info. I've been checking this site out for a couple of weeks, and decided it was time to start contributing to the already excellent info/resources available. I grew up crushing rock, loading trucks and running dozer for the family gravel pit, and have branched out into my own excavation company. Been on my own for 5yrs and looking forward to being just another one of the old ornery veterans that teach me something new everyday. Looking to learn more here, and maybe even post something of use once in awhile.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Hello

Thanks guys. To answer a few of the questions, I am over here in Oregon where playing in the mud is pretty much the standard 7-8months out of the year I run all compact equipment Bobcat 435g excavator, Komatsu D20-p dozer, Bobcat 753 skidsteer, 1991 International single axle 5-7yd, and am now restoring and running a 1974 KW A-model dump. That's about all a one man show can keep up with. I'm sure I'll post something of use soon!!

Re: Hello

Welcome Jason! Know what you mean about the mud ,expecially when in the clay----- then it will dry up and it is so dusty you can not see what you are grading. Small window I guess.

Re: Hello

Tgeb,

Thanks for the invite on Thursdays and I love my 435. I was sort of the Guinea pig, being that I was the first in the area to have one -'04 model. The only issue I had was a track problem, where a sending unit kept tripping the computer up. My dealer support is awesome, so it was all taken care of and it's been great ever since-getting close to 1300hrs. Did your machine require the updates on the planetaries, pump pulley, relief valves, etc? I decided not to have mine updated due to leaving things well enough alone-didn't really like the idea of pulling the engine etc. out of my perfectly good machine in order to gain a little more track power-I always thought that is what the stick is for anyhow, If you can't drive it up then pull it up

Re: Hello

I bought my First 435 in 2004 also, with the fast track drive system it was awesome. Traded that one on a new one last summer and the newer one has been nothing but trouble. Hydraulic system problems that they can't seem to get worked out.

The dealer support has been excellent, my dealer has gone way more than the extra mile and we are working out the details to get this one replaced.

It's funny the one system on mine that has worked perfectly is the track drive system, never had a minutes trouble, all the other functions would go haywire.

Re: Hello

Jason nice to meet you. You answered a question and tossed your .02 cents my way thanks. I haven't had a chance to remove my swing motor on my grey market Hitachi. I recently joined myself and really haven't introduced myself to anyone. I guess everyone will notice my screen name and wonder is he a cop. Well I am the k-9 supervisor for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in Virginia. Just to help out with the location, Virginia Tech is located in our county. Now everyone is probably wondering what I am doing on the website. I work 12 hour shifts and because of it I work 13 days a month. That leaves me lots of extra time. My wife farms horses and we live on a 375 acre horse farm. So equipment is important to me. I also got stuck builiding lots of fence, sheds, buildings and even barns. I now build all of the above for other people for money. Something I wasn't getting for working for the wife. I put up post frame buildings and currently have more work than I have employees to help with. I am just finishing up a 4000 square foot indoor k-9 breeding and training facility in West Virginia. Anyway Jason welcome aboard and I look forward to throwing my problems out there for people like you to help answer. I will list some of my equipment just because everyone else does and I don't want to be left out. 93 Hitachi 50 excavator special grey market model , 05 Cat 252B, old 350B John Deere that steers really good to the right only, Massey Ferguson 283 tractor, International Super C, International 404, Lt 40 Woodmizer Sawmill, 96 and a 97 Dodge trucks with awesome 12 valve engines running on sweet smelling biodiesel, 79 international s2600 dump and lots of other small stuff I don't want to bore people with. Thanks to all that give good advice and suggestions, at the age of 28 I still have alot to learn.
