Re: Fuel Cost

Tom, I voted for Perot. If this country had to play by our rules, it would have gone chapter 7 many times over. I'd sure like to be able to change the rules, steal from money pools and be able to just print more when I needed it.

Here's a good one. We had polluted waters. No problem! Change the numbers and, voila! Pollution has been cured!

Re: Fuel Cost

I tend to agree with you Tettor, if the Gov had to balance it's check book and if the congress had to pay for the PORK out of it's own pocket we would be living in a better world.

AS far as around here we do things much different than say 20 years ago as far as keeping water clean. Much more sediment and erosion control measures, more storm water management ponds etc. Our streams here are cleaner. When I was a kid you couldn't see the bottom of a creek near where I live and now it is clear most of the time.
Oysters are making a comeback in the Chesapeake Bay. It's not allsmoke and mirrors.

Republicans in office our coutry seems to fall into troubles

Democrats's in office by the time they're done they've cleaned up most of the mess left behind by the republicans.
I swear I am going to buy you a history text Josh.

And.....Everytime I hear about the Democrats are like Robin Hood and "give" to the poor...while Republicans only tax the poor and give to the rich, I wanna puke.

Ok Democrats...lets tax the peewadie out of the rich people...those in income brackets above 100k....we can tax them down to the middle class if we try hard enough...and since they only make up .6% of the taxpaying Americans...I am sure everyone else will get a free ride...no more taxes.... And lets be sure to get big business while we are at it...I bet we can drive them out of business...and since we will have so much money at the lower classes since we won't be paying taxes anymore...we can all hire the millions that will loose their jobs....it will be a better world for sure.

Re: Fuel Cost

past 16yrs:

Clinton: economy good/strong lots of world freinds and cigars were popular

Bush:both of 'em: wars, world hates us, economy sucks and we're in a state of financial turmoil right now the country has never seen before, when it hits full effect nobody can predict what will happen since the countries never been in such a terrible state before.

I'm not one for history, just face values...looking back and taking account at parties in office and then looking at eceonomy while they're there, makes it pretty cut and dry IMO dont care how ya shake it or what it boils down too, history does show us and ya cant micro manage it...need to look at the overall picture

Re: Fuel Cost

We are still in a fantastic economic picture..and you are right to a point, no one really knows what we will pay for the economy in the future. As for the world not liking us...tough sh!t...we are the only super power remaining, thanks to strong conservative leadership...and that is just the way it is.

When this economy tanks, and it probably will, there will be a total shakeout of the administration in power at the time of collapse, and the blame game will become front page news.

Re: Fuel Cost

all of us should realize that we as business people pay no taxes....taxes are a cost of doing business for us, and passed onto the end user.

i'm curious, or maybe hallucinating, but if i'm not mistaken, clinton served with a republican controlled house and senate. and for the life of me, i can't put my finger on one individual economic stimulus package he personally proposed, enacted.....please correct me if i'm wrong here.
