Re: Faulty Bobcat Equipment?

A good friend of mine runs some and they have had problems with all of there machines. They are now on their third 442 all suffering from some sort of hydraulic overheating problem. Bobcat has not been able to fix the problem so they keep giving them a new machine. I was thinking maybe it's them but they bought a Takehuichi and have had zero problems with the excavator and skid steer. Also had undercarriage problems on the T-250. After about the 10th time in the shop Bobcat aknowledged that there was a problem with the machine and traded them a new T-300 for there machine with no additional cost. Well now after 150 hours the T-300 is in the shop with a hydraulic fauilure. They are to the point that they are wanting Bobcat to buy them out of there lease and Bobcat is disputing it. I was trying to find out if anyone else has had any of the same problems. Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Faulty Bobcat Equipment?

Well I have heard of problems with the final drive systems on the T250 and T300. One of the service guys at my dealer said they have a lot of failures. But was not specific.

As far as the 442 I have heard it is made by Terex (?),
Though I am not sure. They are pretty big excavators for a builder of mini's.

My 435 has oil coolers on it. Never lifted the hood on the 442.

If I were to need one that large I would go with a different manufacturer.

Other than that I don't know how I can help you.

Good luck.
