E & SW Contractor Websites

Do you or your company have one?

Has it gotten you work?

Does it help in any other way?

Do you keep it updated and how much work is it?

Did you spend much money on it?

Anything else that you would say about having or not having a website?

Yes I have one. No it has not got me any work. It helps because you can refer clients to you web site for info and past jobs. Also I find it makes you seem bigger than you really are. I use to update it often just have been very busy. I did not spen much money i bought to rights to the name and used a templated and added my own content. I am thinking about haveing the website reviewed and redighned and or updated professionally.

Yep, check it out at the bottom of my signature!

I don't know for sure that it has landed too many jobs that I would not have gotten anyway.

I have impressed potential employees, and it can help to show past performance and give people a general idea of the work we can do.

Hasn't been updated in years.
Did you spend much money on it?
Depends on what you mean by much money.

I don't think it can hurt to have one but the benefits for us dirt guys I think is limited.

My site is sort of "farmed out" I need to have better control of the content so I can update it from here. The people I have it with do a great job but are too expensive to have them work on it all the time.

Re: E & SW Contractor Websites

I am curious to what a good price is for a contractor.

When I designed I would basis on a couple of things...First, How much increase in profit are you looking for? Based on the response I knew the site they wanted. Then charged around 60 dollars an hour.

I would think a well informed site about what you do, past work, and contact avenues is all you need.

I would think about 1k for a site with info about what you do, ways they can learn more about why you do it right, photo gallery, and contact form/info.

That all being done with search engines and speed in mind.
