Re: Duramax Chevy
The Duramax is awsome I currently have two of them both in 1ton duallies. They pull really good and the allison transmission is the best thing they ever put in a light duty truck. I pull a lot of heavy loads pretty often and for long periods and havent had any troubles with temp or anything. The milage is pretty good too depending on how you drive probably around 15mpg towing 20's empty depending on weight. You will enjoy it.

Re: Duramax Chevy
I'm on my 2nd Duramax, 1st with 6 speed Allison. 19 mpg hwy, 16.5 mpg city, pulling the big ass trailer 15 mpg.
I can't complain, last one was running 15-16 hwy and city.

Re: Duramax Chevy
I have a '06 2500 HD duramax. I pull 4 tons regularly. I'm pleased with the performance. I have had some minor problems with trans cooling lines (dripping fluid) because of extreme temprature conditions in Alaska. It's a good work rig. I think the mpg is about 18-20.

Re: Duramax Chevy
I have two 06 LBZ's and i love them. I get 11-13mpg towing my mini-ex and i get around 13-14mpg towing my enclosed trailer. I have gotten a best of 22mpg with my ECSB on a trip with the tuner set on 85HP. It has gotten 20-21mpg without the tuner. A good website with alot of info on D-Max's is dieselplace.com if you are looking for more info on upgrades or any other info in general.
