Demolition Hammers
I am at an asbestos abatement company and am doing a demolition where we need to scrape stucco walls. I am looking for a demolition hammer that can chip a lot of stucco, but is not too heavy. Any suggestions?

Re: Demolition Hammers
How thick is the stucco? Its applied over some sort of substrate, but is it directly applied to block, or something of that nature. Or is it applied with wire over another substrate? Also, what kind of equipment are you looking to equip. Skid steer vs a hoe may make a difference in this application.

We're not using a skid steer or backhoe. We want a lightweight hand-held demo hammer. Thanks for the help. |

Re: Demolition Hammers
What is it (the Stucco) applied *to?
*That would be the material between the Stucco and the concrete. How much of this Stucco do you have to remove? What will be the size of your crew? Is the asbestos contained in the Stucco or in the substrate? |

Re: Demolition Hammers
Hilti TE500, it uses lighter chisles so it can deliver a hard hit without too much added weight, if your looking at alot of chipping in awkard or semi-overhead places it makes a nice compromise.
Anything heavier you do not want to hold for long. If you want to drill with it too go for a big combi like a TE-70, but like most tools the 500 is more specilized for being light and hitting hard. The 706 with the vibration reduction may be well suited also. |
