Demo 1300 Sq. Ft.

How much would you charge to demolish a 1300 sq. ft frame house.

Depends-

- How much does a dumpster cost where you are?
- Is there a basement? If so, do you have to rip out the walls and floor? Do you have to fill in the hole?
- How close is it to other buildings? Do you need to protect them?
- Are you going to damage the road/sidewalk/curbs, etc., and have to repair them afterwards?

- Most importantly, what does it cost you to operate your business on a weekly/daily/hourly basis, and how long will it take you to demo the house? If you can't answer those two questions, the rest are probably moot points.

Ninety thousand. That sounds like a pretty good deal.

The house, built in 1906, is wood shingle, has no basement. There is a large tree on the lot that also has to come out, but I figure I can push that over with the excavator.

Trying to compare that with what we pay for demo's I'd say in the 12 - 14k range.

Where are you loacted?
It is probably 5 30cy containers (General Debris) 2 20cy containers (Concrete). No more than 2 days work demo and clean up. Are you going to chip the tree or put it in a container? Most likely a 7,000-9,000 job for my area North NJ if it was for a contractor for a homeowner add 2,000 more

Wolf,

How much are you going to charge?

What do you base your estimates on?

About 7,000 without taking it to a landfill or using dumpsters.

Re: Demo 1300 Sq. Ft.

I guess I am in a user friendly area. We charge $6 a sq/ft to demo, and I make some money on it. I do it for less if we are building on the site after it is clean. In my area, 30 yard rool offs go for $250 + $27 a ton over 5 tons. Concrete is free if hauled to the landfill. It would be 5 rolloffs, plus 5 truck loads of concrete roughly (14 ft dump bed) and would need several tons of fill for the foundations. Take 2 days to finish up.
