Deadsville - Inc.

Hey Fellow Dirt People,
Just wondering what everyone's up to for the summer ? Must all be on vacations because this place is quieter than a Cemetary. Have we discussed everythung there is about excavation? Must be something thats escaping us. Well I'll put my thinking cap on and I'm sure Nick can come up with something.

I wish I were on Vacation!

Just been very busy. If not on site, in the office, or something needs attention on one of the trucks, or it's the phone or.....

You know how it gets sometimes.

Joe,

Is that cap, the one they gave you in kindergarten to sit on that stool in the corner with that on?

I'm still waiting on the word about the footing drain article.

I guess we can kick around this thought; What is the biggest piece of equipment you've ever operated?

Good one! D8 and a Kumatsu 300. Not exactly strip mining equip., but they give you the feeling that you can move mountains.

Re: Deadsville - Inc.

I'm thinking of taking a 6 hour vacation to beautiful downtown New Milford, CT for rest and relaxation!

Joe, You could do another dissertation on the difference between tenth's and inches.

Double, I am stuck on an outline for the article.

With the heat the last week and these darn antibiotics I'm on I'm so tired by 5 o'clock I can't think much at night.

AA, I think Nick has sent the manuscript out to Doubleday to be put to print. You should see it hitting the Borders book shelves by Oct. Nick's really hoping to make Ophra's Book Club.

My inlaws are from a little town in Quebec called Asbestos. Yes they were famous for mining the stuff up until the '70's. Anyway they have a dump truck parked on the mine property on display and the wheels and tires on this thing have got to be 20 ft. high. Imagine the excavator that fills it up

Largest piece of equipment I've ever run is a 385 Cat excavator and a Cat 992 front end loader. Talk about FUN!!!!!!!

I ran a Kobelco 60,000 track hoe before can't recall the model, and I got to play with a 992C (dozer blade) at the local CAT dealer. They have a 'sandbox' out back for us boys (and girls) to play with their toys.

Re: Deadsville - Inc.

Where is that "sandbox" to play in Double A? What are the requirements to get in and test out the equipment (i.e., do you have to be in line for purchase, or can you just be shopping and test driving)?

Thanks.

Riggs here in Arkansas. Our company had purchased and rented equipement from them before (although not a CAT 992...)

Someone had to make sure the A/C in the cab worked even with the dozer blade down. I couldn't stand the thought of some poor operator getting hot and his iced tea melting and going all warm.
