CDL Info

Talking to a motor vehicle inspector for the State of CT it seems that now if you have a CDL license you have to have a current health card with you no matter what you are driving.

Can you get 'em at Home Depot where they sell green cards?

Now there is a new one...I wonder if they can enforce that one in court...I would have to fight them. I have a CDL and I do not keep a current health card. I hope Oklahoma doesn't find out or they will try this one. I got scaled awhile back (portable scales and safety check) pulling my 25 ft gooseneck with my 763 Bobcat loaded on the trailer. He warned me that I was approaching the point I needed to increase the tagged weight of my truck...even though I do not haul for hire. Bet he would make me pay for hauling my #14,240 forklift on my 14k capacity trailer.

Re: CDL Info

it's like that in the southeast too,,, ya got the cdl, they treat you like commercial no matter what you're driving, including health cards. a speeding ticket in your mustang goes on your mvr as if you were in your commercial rig.

Re: CDL Info

I guess when you have a cdl that means your a professional driver. So they expect you to be more responsible and aware of your actions no matter what you are driving. You as a professional driver should know better.

I believe this also applies to the lower blood alcohol level when your driving a commercial vehicle. I believe you are held to the lower allowable level even when driving your personal vehicle.
