Buying Used Finish Crawler Dozers

I have an 2004 John Deere 550 H Lt in my sights and the moldboard just behind the outer cutting edge is bent. The moldboard is bent in about 1.5 inches. The outer cutting edge does not appear to be bent.

Is this common on used dozers? Is it best to repair or replace the moldbold and who is best to make this decision. If repaired is this a repair that an authorized John Deere shop should be making?

Thanks for your comments.

WTF were they doing with it, prying on stumps or rock ??? Are you sure that the acutal moldboard is bent or is it just some metal support behind the moldboard. Seems to me that if the moldboard was bent, then the cutting edge would not bolt on too good. Check to see if the cutting edge is welded on or is actually bolted to the moldboard.

Either way, it is a easy fix if you know someone that is a good welder.
