Building Demo Estimate

I need to estimate out the demo and removal of a two car garage w/apartment above. Its big and old. How Much

No! Seriously, Anyone have a good formula I can use to calculate the cf or cy of demo so I can estimate how many dumpsters I need?

Re: Building Demo Estimate

Go take a look, and take a good guess. All depends on your materials though. Is this structure wood, or is it block? Is it empty, or does it have a bunch of furniture/appliances? Theres a lot of factors in figuring out quantities on demo.

Re: Building Demo Estimate

Oh I looked at it. Its a two story wood structure with concrete pad. Though we can not gain access inside, I can base my estimate on the structure + $$ for each dumpster needed for furnishings. Its the structure I need to be close with.

Re: Building Demo Estimate

I would bid it out to one of us excavation guys and put your mark up on it. You will more than likely make more money and be lower on the bid. Demolition is one of those things that takes more skill and planning than most would think. Get a a good excavation contractor in there and the job should go smoothly at a competitive rate. Just my .02.

I would just take the square footage of the structure then call the dumpster company and ask them "What size dumpster(s) would I need for a XX sq. ft. structure?" They better tell you..
