Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
Howdy all!
I've always dreamed and wondered if anyone made a small crusher attachment to fit on my skidsteer and just had someone point me in the right direction yesterday. I have hundreds of 10 wheeler loads of concrete crap on my development site that I will either need to get rid of or crush and reuse and this would be great. City ordinance won't let me bring in a full size crusher....so this is the only option or just haul it off. This site was a big fill site for years about 20 years ago!!! The company is called New Dimension Crushers out of White Pine MI. www.newdimensioncrushers.com I'm hoping that someone here may have some experience with one and can give me some reviews before I go spend a wad of cash on one???? Thanks a million. Sam |

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
To be honest with you I watched the video and I think it's a waste of time. I'd have them bring one out to me to demo it before I'd ever go and buy it.

That thing wouldn't be able to handle unprocessed rubble. At best it might turn small rocks into slightly smaller ones.

Maybe this is what you need:
http://www.darda.de/eng/f_start.htm Sounds like you should be hauling to a staging area, crushing with a jaw crusher and resale as pavement base. |

Request a variance or special permit from the City for your crusher. You can submit your mitigation measures regarding dust and noise abatement along with the "green" aspects of utilizing the existing on-site material. If you approach them with a well thought out and achievable program; you may be able to use the larger crusher for your project.

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
All American...originally the plan was for the city to bring the crusher in to crush up my material...which they put there in the first place (I bought the property from them) and use the material for the sub base borrow material under the road base for parking lots in the city park that we built that had major settling issues. They shot down the idea due to the noise aspect and the ordinance regarding industrial zone. I've been trying to get it across to them that it would be temporary for them and for the public benefit so they could recycle that material and use it for the city park but they don't seem to want to bend their rules any....so that's why we are looking into this other option so we can crush the material ourselves and just use the material for pipe bedding material and for fill under basement slabs, driveways, etc.
Right now we are in the process of requesting info from the manufacturer on who some of their past purchasors have been so we can call and get some feedback on the machine. We definately don't want to have one shipped out here to utah and then find that it won't do what it appears to do in the video on their website. If it works as advertised...its exactly what we need. Thanks all for the comments so far. I want to research both sides of something before I lay out that much money on something!!! Sam |

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
Hey all!!! Just a follow up to my previous post. We did get some feedback from some current users of the New Dimension Crusher attachment and the consensus was that it will do exactly what we are looking for. This is really the only option for our situation so we went ahead and ordered it and should have it out here next week sometime. If anyone is interested, I'll post some more feedback after I have had some time to use it on my huge piles of concrete!!!

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
For anyone that is interested, the crusher attachement that I ordered from New Dimension Crushers showed up the other day and I have had a little bit of time operating it now. It works pretty much as advertised once you get used to how it operates. I'm pretty impressed with how much material it will go thru for just being a skidsteer attachment. Given the amount of material that I have to work thru, it is going to take a long time, but it was really my only option here at this site.
One disappointment. For as much money as the thing costs....you'd think they would supply you with hoses and fittings!!!! |

Finehomes... what's the fine if you bring in a crusher anyhow and do the work? This is a serious suggestion. Sometimes the fine is much less than the benefit you will receive from breaking the law in some cases.
EDIT.. I didnt' read far enough. I see you got your small crusher attachment. Best of luck with it. |

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
I'm in a pretty small town and have a really good working relationship with the city. I've been probably one of the larger developers here for the past 5 years and its looking like I may have a joint venture project with a landowner on another 35+ acre project here. I'd rather not piss off anyone at the city!!!! The relationship I have there goes a long way in getting things done!!!

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
Good luck with the new crusher Sam.
Please keep us posted on how it works out for you, maybe take a couple photos, and give us an idea on the production rates and the amount of noise this attachment makes. Some of my projects, I could use something like this. Demo a concrete driveway.....use the crushed material for new base course, and look at me .....I'm a GREEN contractor!

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
Tom,
My wife was taking some photos yesterday while I was working with it. I will see how they turned out and try to upload some later. According to the manufacturer, it will crush up to 10 tons per hour, depending on the experience of the operator and type of material. Obviously right now I am very inexperienced because I am not getting anywhere near that volume.....but I have lots and lots of crap to practice on. I'm going to head over today for a couple hours and play around. The big trick I've learned so far is to not get too much in the hopper. You gotta leave room for the material to bounce around some or else it won't work at all. If anyone missed the original post....there is a video on the company's site that shows how this machine works that is pretty accurate. The noise is pretty much about even with the loader. www.newdimensioncrushers.com Sam |

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
If I figured out how to do this, there should be some pictures attached of one of the many huge piles of concrete at my site....and then one of my piles of crushed material that I have been experimenting with. This two me about two hours of getting used to the machine and experimenting with engine speed to get the proper rpm.

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
After looking at pictures of what he's run through the crusher I don't really think it would be useful unless you had a deep fill and then you were to go over it with process. Looks very inconsistent in what it puts out.

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
I agree Joe. Looks like you would have to screen it after crushing.
I wonder how it handles WWM in concrete slabs, or what happens if you try and crush a piece that has some rebar in it. Sam, What kind of city is that? Looks like the desert in the background of the photos.

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
Tom I'm in Utah...so you are right....it is the desert!!! A lot of the larger pieces you see in that pile are from me having to to eject them from the bucket because they wouldn't go though and I just didn't take time to go and pull themout yet. You can run the material though a second time and it becomes even more uniform and slightly smaller and also runs though very quickly.
I'm not sure about wire mesh...that doesn't get used much around here but rebar will go right through. They recommend rebar being cut off flush before crushing...so I havent tried any that was poking out....but I have crushed a few pieces that I saw rebar in and it went through just fine. The comments about the deep fill was exactly what my thoughts were. I plan to use this in basements under the slabs where I can fill 7 or 8 inches with this type of material and then top it off with pea gravel that will be easier to level out. Also great for backfilling garages maybe. Sam |

Re: Anyone Familiar With New Dimension Crusher Attachments???
I don't understand being out in what looks like the desert why you can't bring in a full size crusher and blow that stuff out in a day or two.
