Washing Piers?

How do guys handle washing piers? Weaker wash solution and more dwell time? I'm thinking of the runoff into the water.

Re: Washing Piers?

A Mild Bleach solution WILL NOT harm any ecology due to run-off. This does NOT mean that it is "legal".

Re: Washing Piers?

Kind of what I was thinking. I guess "mild" is the operative word here. Anyway, I thought I had a deck to do. The owner told me he and his wife talked it over and decided they like the grey look. No price was ever discussed. Kind of made me think money might still be the problem, but he says he has some more painting I can do on his house trim. Propably about the same amount of money involved so I don't know. Maybe they decided the trim is a higher priority than the deck since the deck is at the back of the house and gets little use. I was hoping to get the deck (and pier)done to maybe sell more jobs on the lake.

Re: Washing Piers?

The recommended blend setting is 20 to 1. 40 to 1 will work longer soak.

This seems to be a fairly informative web-posting:
