I do have that unit and just now have started using it.

It seems to me that for the price and warranty that comes with it, the thing is a real nice cold water machine.

You have the Dewalt? The deal is they have a Dewalt 3750 psi 4 gpm which is a last years model on clearance. It has no wand, and I would still have to buy the wand, noizzles, etc.. I think the regular price on the Dewalt is 999. They have it marked down to 859. It has a pump by General. No manual or nozzles, just the washer and hose. I offered 500 and was turned down. Heheh, the guy said he (HD) gave more than the 859 for it. I told him that was unbelievable and started to walk off then. I could be wrong on that, but I would think they had a higher markup.
Anyway, before if I have to pay regular price which 859 would be if I have to buy the wand and nozzles, I'm thinking just buy the Ridgid complete for 999. I have a little Karcher model 3000, but it is shooting a fine stream of water out one of the plugs from a hole. Thought I might upgrade to higher volume gpm.

Yes, I have the DeWalt 3750 psi unit. You can see it at the DeWalt site online. Slightly different in the hose lengths and maybe a slight psi change.
Take a look. You can download the manual on their site too.

My advice is to get the unit that is Complete and ready to use, your choice which model.

There are places online that sell comparable sized units for less money price wise , but you pay for shipping, have to wait awhile and if you have problems with it... Then What ??

Having a store to go back to is a good thing.

Yup, not a fan of mail ordering things like this. Am curious about the ridgid. I didn't know they made washers. I asked a guy at HD, and he said it was a first for them I think.

Yup, I think HD stopped carrying the DeWalts. Maybe now the are with Rigid.
Seems like most of the manufacturers are using pretty much the same components for the units.

I looked online at Lowes and they carry a similar unit made by John Deere for the same price as this at $999.

Take your pick.

Check out the pump. If it has an unloader built into it, its bad news. It means the pump is proprietary and repairs will cost you more over the life of the unit.

I expect this is the case as I was told that the Rigid had to be sent in to be worked on (pump).

I was back out there and got to thinking how much will I actually be using it. I recently replace my truck with a van. The bigger washers would difficult to load and unload in the van. I still have my truck and trailer, but intend to mostly use the van. Also, how many times will I actually need all that pressure? So I decided to go with a smaller unit to start for small jobs. If things look good and I can always go for the bigger units. I also considred the warranties. Dewalt does not compare with Rigid on warranty. The bigger Rigid model had a 4 year commercial warranty, th esmaller a 2 year ( I think ). But for the money starting out I settled for a smaller, lighter Homelite with 300psi 1 year commercial, 3 year consumer warranty, 5 nonozzles, soap bucket, heat overload 30 ft non marring hose for $399. It only delivers 2.8 gpm, but it will do for now. My old one only had 2gpm and 1500 psi. Karcher bought at a yard sale. Heheh, best $25 I ever spent since I had just built my deck. About half of the decking I used was almost black from being outside so long ( never used). It looks good now. Still have to get some stain on it. I also washed my rental house with it.

I had this machine when it was branded as a Campbell Hausfeld (if I recall). 13 Horsepower Honda?

Loved the heck out of that machine. Just looked at the Ridgid and it looks even better by miles!

Go make some money!!!

Actually this one is a Suburu* 7 hp overhead cam engine. Kind of odd looking with the wheels in the front and the fold down and around handle. Hey, it does have pnuematic tires! Gotta be a plus. The warranty was a strong point in my decision.
