Question PW Kool Deck with water stains

Not much experience here so I want to ask someone who knows.

I don't do much pressure washing but need to do a job for a customer of mine. It is a White Kool Deck pool and Lanai area. There is a section where rain water has left stains and I need to remove the stains while cleaning the rest of the surface. Is Muriatic acid a good choice or is there some other safer product? I don't want to buy much for this as I probably won't clean another for some time. But at the same time I want to do it right. I have the acid already.

Will the acid harm the Kool Deck? Also what nozzle would be safe to use.

you need to be extremely careful on the kool decking. it is very easy to chip and ruin it. Do not use acid on it.

kool deck, be careful not to blow that junk right off the slab & easy on acid...
cut the acid a few times..
its basically a plaster material...
& delamination is very common..

Paul, what color? Rust? Lime? Sulpher? I have some experience on the left coast, have a cousin in Sarasota.

Simple solution - do NOT use high pressure - do NOT use muriatic acid and absolutely do NOT use the red tip. Using a pump up sprayer, first use a solution of soap & bleach to clean the surface. NO aggressive pressure on the Kool Deck period - 400-500 psi or so is sufficient. Hot water would be better. You can use your soap tip actually (the black one). If you hold the wand a couple of feet up, the white would be okay.

For the rust spots - you can try something like CLR to spot clean with. Or you could give the entire surface an oxalic bath (you cannot spot clean with oxalic acid) making certain to rinse well.

Any questions, phone # is below

Thanks for the help guys. I will have to discuss this with the customer. I think I will probably stay away from the acid, and see how it comes out with cleaners.

Hey Paul, I'm just south of you in New Port Richey, at the border of Hudson.
Gimme a call and I can take a look at it for you or give some advice. I have cleaned hundreds of these pool decks here in Florida.

Thanks for the offer. I just read it and am doing the job today. I appreciate the offer though. I will be cleaning the stain with CLR and using the black tip to do the rest. Probably with a mix of soap and bleach sprayed on first.

Well I washed the pool and Lanai and it came out great. Used the yellow tip and no damage at all. The CLR took off the stain and for the rest I just used a bleach and water mix.
Thanks for the help guys.
